ecycler has Accepted the Challenge – Part II

We’ve kept a running list of the places we’ve visited during the Fairfield Road to Success Small Business Challenge. Check out the ecycler has Accepted the Challenge posting for the challenge details and ecycler goals.

We had 15 nights available to us. And, we’ve managed to utilize all 15 stays! For your viewing pleasure, we’ve put together a photo montage. And, summarized all 15 stays…

Stay Number One

Date: 21 Sep 2010

Stay: 1 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites – Champaign, IL

Primary Goal: Register Bromley Hall–a dorm of 700+ students–as an ecycler discarder. Help them understand the logistics of a large collection process.

Secondary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around the campus.

 

Stay Number Two

Date: 29 Sep 2010

Stay: 2 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites – Kokomo, IN

Primary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around town.

Secondary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various town cafes, restaurants and stores to attract additional households as discarders.

 

Stay Number Three

Date: 30 Sep 2010

Stay: 3 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites – New Buffalo, MI

Primary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around town.

Secondary Goal: Visit Notre Dame campus (college towns tend to be more environmentally acute). Also, post ecycler posters at various town and campus cafes, restaurants and stores to attract additional households as discarders.

 

Stay Number Four

Date: 11 Oct 2010

Stay: 4 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites – Champaign, IL

Primary Goal: Register Illini Media–-a media company (radio, newspaper) and be interviewed for a newspaper/blog story–with potential for some on-air coverage at WPGU.

Secondary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around the campus.

 

Stay Number Five

Date: 20 Oct 2010

Stay: 5 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites – Beloit, WI

Primary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various campus town cafes, restaurants and stores. Visit the Beloit recycling center to encourage collectors to register on ecycler.

Secondary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around the campus.

 

Stay Number Six

Date: 24 Oct 2010

Stay: 6 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites – Champaign, IL

Primary Goal: We have been invited back to participate in the campus “Sustainability Week”. We will hand out ecycler flyers under the Illini Media tent. And the best news, we’ll be interviewed on the Champaign / Urbana radio station 107.1 WPGU.

Secondary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around the campus. Follow-up with some of the business visited during previous stays.

 

Stay Number Seven

Date: 3 Nov 2010

Stay: 7 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn – Kalamazoo, MI

Primary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around town.

Secondary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various campus town cafes, restaurants and stores. Visit the Kalamazoo recycling center to encourage collectors to register on ecycler.

 

Stay Number Eight

Date: 4 Nov 2010

Stay: 8 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn – Detroit (Livonia), MI

Primary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around town.

Secondary Goal: Visit Platinum Salvage, one of ecycler’s key collectors, to finally meet in person–to ensure we are doing all we can to enable them in their business.

Tertiary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various town cafes, restaurants and stores.

 

Stay Number Nine

Date: 5 Nov 2010

Stay: 9 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn – Battle Creek, MI

Primary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around town.

Secondary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various town cafes, restaurants and stores. Visit the Battle Creek   recycling centers (aiming for four of them) to encourage collectors to register on ecycler.

 

Stay Number Ten

Date: 13 Nov 2010

Stay: 10 of 15

PropertyFairfield Inn & Suites – Orlando, FL

Primary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around town as discarders.

Secondary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various cafes, restaurants and stores to encourage individuals to register. Visit recycling centers near to Orlando to encourage collectors to register on ecycler.

 

Stay Number Eleven

Date: 14 Nov 2010

Stay: 11 of 15

PropertyFairfield Inn & Suites – Melbourne, FL

Primary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, bars, etc. around town as discarders.

Secondary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various cafes, restaurants and stores to encourage individuals to register. Visit the recycling centers around Melbourne to encourage collectors to register on ecycler.

 

Stay Number Twelve

Date: 22 Nov 2010

Stay: 12 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites Colorado Springs North (not Steamboat as originally planned)

Primary Goal: Assess recycling process in Steamboat Colorado Springs, including a visit to the city recycling center. Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, bars, etc. around town as discarders.

Secondary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various town cafes, restaurants and stores.

 

Stay Number Thirteen

Date: 30 Nov 2010

Stay: 13 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn – Jackson, MI

Primary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around town.

Secondary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various town cafes, restaurants and stores. Visit the Jackson recycling center to encourage collectors to register on ecycler.

 

Stay Number Fourteen

Property: Fairfield Inn – Lansing (East), MI

Primary Goal: Register sandwich shops, coffee shops, etc. around town.

Secondary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various town cafes, restaurants and stores.

 

Stay Number Fifteen

Date: 8 Dec 2010

Stay: 15 of 15

Property: Fairfield Inn & Suites – Baltimore, MD

Primary Goal: Understand how a LEED Gold facility functions with respect to recycling. We hope the hotel will become an ecycler discarder and we know we can find collectors in Baltimore who could pick up recycled items from the hotel’s staff and guests.

Secondary Goal: Post ecycler posters at various cafes, restaurants and stores in the Baltimore area. We also hope to get other green-minded businesses in the area to sign up on ecycler.com as discarders.
